Hair treatments
Healthy hair is great-looking hair. Start deep-conditioning hair treatments like hair masques up to 6 months before the event to nourish your hair, address dryness and repair heat damage. Keratin treatments tame frizz and add shine and volume. Start 1 to 5 months before. Red Light Therapy stimulates hair follicles and supports hair regrowth. It may benefit conditions like androgenetic alopecia, psoriasis, and eczema. It takes 2-4 months to see results.
Colour
Give 2-3 weeks for hair colour to settle and see if you like it. There’s enough time for touchups, too. Add a week or two for major colour changes you’re familiar with or sure of. Add a few months if you want to experiment with colour.
Haircut
Freshen up your go-to haircut 2-3 weeks before the event. If you want to try a new style, start about 3-6 months before. This timeframe allows you to get used to it, ensure it’s what you want, or to grow it out for something different.
Trim
Get a trim within a few weeks leading up to the event. This’ll neaten up the ends and get it ready for special styling.
Blowout: 1-2 days before
Since this blowout is for a special event, hair stylists can add products like extra hold to ensure it looks great for the day.
Trials
Hair trials are a chance to try different styles to see which you like best. If this is for wedding hair, bring your dress if you’re comfortable with that, or a picture of you wearing it. Bring your party as well so you can co-ordinate for a harmonious look.
Wedding day
The bride should come in 2-3 hours before the wedding ceremony. If coming in with a party, allow 1-2 hours for each member if hair styles are involved (braids, for instance).
